R/Me Help!
I have a main R/Me, its an old character which i played with since 4 years back, but i haven't played GW for a while now. long story short. i need someone to help me with a build for my R/Me. Need both a PvE and PvP build. my current build is weak and useless.
Also i a tip on a strong build in general for a new character is appreciated. Thanks in advance, guys. Your help would be very appreciated. |

You'll have to give some more information here. For instance, what level is this character? How many skills do you have already? What elites skills do you have at your disposal?
Also, you have a R, not a R/Me. ^^ There is a quest you can do that allows you to change your secondary profession every time you are in a town. If you are too low level to take the quest (and thus probably also don't have many skills available), then I wouldn't worry about builds yet if I were you. Just choose skills that seem useful. As for PvP, I suggest you create a PvP character, as a PvE character will most likely be gimped unless you have a ton of equipment/money. For build ideas, you can check this: http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page Last edited by admiralnlson; Oct 12, 2010 at 05:05 PM // 17:05.. |

R/Me? Go for the standard Ranger bar, replacing Mending Touch with Blackout.

First of all, you don't want a pet by your side if it's gonna be useless, so don't use charm animal alone with no beast mastery pet skills to boost it (Comfort Animal is not enough). You have 0 in the Beast Mastery attribute, which means your pet does almost no damage and your Comfort Animal doesn't heal.
If you're looking for efficiency you'll also want to check the official wiki and see if the explorable area(s) you're going to contain bosses with elites that you'd like to have. If not, don't take a signet of capture. In PvP, you can't capture the other guy's elites. You'll also want a resurrection skill. Either a signet (for PvP or PvE) or a hard rez like Rebirth (monk skill) (for PvE). Rest is OK. |

I have played primarily as a ranger since I started GW. I am experienced but a mediocre player. It's my experience that the best builds for rangers don't use any ranger skills at all. A R/Rt Splinter Barrage is fantastic for a lot of normal mode areas. But once you get into higher level areas or start playing HM it's almost completely ineffective as monsters don't stand still and don't bunch up in groups much. Looks like R/Rt SoS spirit builds are way more effective.
Not that I speak from experience. I'm just now playing through Factions to capture SoS so I can try it out. YMMV. |

Thanks for all the help. i went with the Splinter barrage, but i have a question tho. Are there a difference if i have Rt as main class than if i have Ranger? for example more armor or mana?

I think Rit first will get you more energy. And I think Ranger first will get you better armor. If you go Rit first though splinter/barrage isn't your best build, imho. Too much good from spawning power and spirit spamming can be had.

SW/B works great for a lot of NM PvE. I finished Prophecies that way and am using it as I roll through a lot of Factions with H/H right now. (Last night I finished two different missions master reward with just 30 seconds to spare!) Most HM content though, jeesh. It's almost useless. Part of why I'm playing through factions now (aside from finally taking an interest in the story) is to get to Ferndale so I can KILL Wagg Spiritspeak and cap SoS. Seems SoS Channeling Rit is much more effective in HM and I can do that as a ranger primary.
